Council budget 2024/25

At the last Full Council meeting Lingfield Parish Council unanimously agreed its budget for the year starting April 2024.

The Council will be replenishing its reserves and preparing for future spending on projects such as new Christmas lights, the Lingfest music festival, emergency tree works, elections and so on. The amount that the Council must raise in income this year has increased significantly as it has set previous rises at well below inflation. The Council has deliberately kept Council tax down during the difficult times of the pandemic and the cost of living crisis but this has led to an erosion of funds that it must replenish.
The Council's other spending in the coming year will include funding maintenance at the pond, allotments and other green spaces in the parish; and grants for burial grounds upkeep, community news, meals on wheels and other community endeavours. The Council has also invested in new CCTV at the pond, and a new website that is due to go live this Spring.
